WE Are born again or saved by the Gospel (Grace) of Jesus Christ. This Gospel brought us from death to life not by our good deeds but as a gift from God the Father. We are beneficiaries of the finished or accomplished work of Jesus Christ. God provided well ahead of time a way of redeeming us from the law of sin and death. Our salvation, therefore, is unmerited, unearned, undeserved and humanly unattainable. Having moved from sin and death, we are now under the spirit of life. Romans 8:2, Amplified, states: “For the law of the Spirit of life (which is) in Christ Jesus (the law of our new being) has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” Sin has no dominion over us.
Let me explain in order to help those who may read this as being moved from one law to another law.
The law of spirit of life is a principle not a set of commandments. Probably the best or easiest example is the law of gravity.
You can only ignore it to your peril. If you jump, say from the top of a skyscraper, the principle of gravity will see you crashing to death.
The principle of the spirit of life dealt with our appetite for sinful behaviour. 1 John 2:1, spells out: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
“And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
Please remember we are righteous conscious not sin conscious. The love of God guides us. Romans 5:8 reads: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

How were we born again? We are told in Ephesians 2:8-9: “(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Our salvation came as a gift not because we had done good. We heard the Gospel preached and we believed according to Romans 10:9-10, New King James, “(9) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
“(10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
That’s the simple process of moving from darkness to light and from death to life.
You didn’t go with sin offering in order to be saved. Jesus is our sin bearer.
God had this plan before time. Revelation 13:8, explains: “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ was the plan of God to redeem us at the appropriate time.
Apostle Peter echoes the same in 1 Peter 1:18-20: “(18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers.
“(19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
“(20) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,”
Apostle Paul has this to say, Galatians 4:4-5: “(4) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
As you can see, there’s a biblical coherence of the salvation plan by God the Father.
It’s very important to appreciate that God came in human form as Jesus.
This is called incarnation. Also of importance is that He died and rose again and is seated on the right hand of God the Father.
Romans 10:6-7, put it into perspective: “(6) But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above 🙂 (7) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)”
In simple terms, God came down from heaven to earth in Jesus. To this day, there are many who are still waiting for the Messiah. The Bible points out in John 1:11: “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
This is the reason why Apostle Paul had to explain that the Saviour came lest we continue under the Mosaic Law.
He also stresses that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He’s alive and we’re seated with Him on the right hand of God the Father.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
