The stage is set for a cultural explosion as the Chibuku Road to Fame 2025 National Finals roar into Gwanzura Stadium on October 4, marking a quarter of a century of discovering and nurturing Zimbabwe’s finest musical talent.

Launched in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, the Chibuku Road to Fame has grown into the country’s biggest grassroots music talent search, bringing together diverse sounds that mirror Zimbabwe’s cultural identity.

Since the provincial rounds began on August 23, the competition has unearthed dazzling performers across genres, igniting excitement in communities nationwide.

This year’s finals carry extra weight, not only because of the 25th anniversary milestone, but also because the stakes have never been higher.

Ten groups from across the provinces will battle it out for the prestigious crown, lucrative cash prizes, and a recording contract.

The champions will walk away with US$15 000, the runners-up US$10 000, while the third-place finishers will pocket US$7 000.

Among the finalists are Core Vibes (Midlands, Afro-fusion), All in One (Mashonaland West, Afro-fusion), Simuniziva (Matabeleland North, Afro-fusion), Dab Band (Bulawayo, Afro-fusion), Bolamba Culture Birds (Matabeleland South, traditional contemporary), Afro Pulse (Masvingo, Afro-fusion), Mnenga Band (Manicaland, Afro-fusion), and Jungle Foxes (Mashonaland East, Sungura). Harare and Mashonaland Central are expected to complete the line-up in the coming days.

“The finals promise more than just competition. Fans can expect a marathon of entertainment, with performances from the competing bands and appearances by renowned guest artists, ensuring a lively carnival atmosphere from morning until late,” the organisers said in a statement.

For Delta Beverages, the long-time sponsor behind Chibuku Road to Fame, the event reflects its enduring commitment to the arts and community development.

The platform has not only launched careers, but also cemented itself as a beacon of hope for aspiring musicians in a tough industry.

As the countdown begins, Gwanzura is set to become the heartbeat of Zimbabwean music, celebrating not just the winners, but 25 years of a legacy that continues to give sound to hidden talent.
