Hamid held several roles inside Zimbabwe Cricket that included Zimbabwe A manager and technical director for the Zimbabwe team at the 2008 ICC Under 19 World Cup in Malaysia. At the time of his death he was a Harare Metropolitan Province board member and chairman for the OH cricket section.

Hamid’s nephew, Saad Khan – who is the OH captain – thanked sponsors Pak Japan Motors, Road Side Workshop, Mylo & Ammar Foods, Plaza Foods, Vallyzar Foods, and Flame Oil for bankrolling the Fun Day event which will also include live entertainment at the Milton Park-based club.

The four-team tournament will be contested by OH, Takashinga, Uprising and Royal. The clubs will be allowed to field players from other teams. – Staff Writer.
