Zim team named for West Indies tour

ZIMBABWE Cricket selectors have named the 15-man squad for the end-of-month tour of the West Indies.

Five ODIs and a Twenty20 match will be played on the tour.
The new faces in the team are in-form Mashonaland Eagles allrounder Greg Lamb and Manicaland Mountaineers allrounder Shingi Masakadza, the younger brother of vice-captain Hamilton.
Young offspinner Timycen Maruma will get another chance to add to his five ODI caps after last playing against South Africa in 2008.
While 28-year-old Lamb was almost a certainty and Maruma’s impressive first-class performances have been bagging for another opportunity, the younger Masakadza’s selection is a surprise.
The team will leave for the Caribbean after the Stanbic Twenty20 competition.

Full squad
Prosper Utseya (captain), Brendan Taylor, Tatenda Taibu, Hamilton Masakadza, Ray Price, Graeme Cremer, Charles Coventry, Vusi Sibanda, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Greg Lamb, Elton Chigumbura, Shingirai Masakadza, Timycen Maruma, Chris Mpofu, Kyle Jarvis. — Staff writer
