HARARE giants Dynamos football club’s financial prospects have taken a hammer blow as would- be sponsors for this season, Faithwear, have pulled out of a deal to bankroll them.
Faithwear had expressed interest in pouring money into the financially challenged Premier Soccer League (PSL) side as well as being their kit sponsor, but endless boardroom squabbles have led to the clothing manufacturers to pull out a few weeks before the 2011 PSL season commences.
Dynamos secretary Oliver Manyau confirmed yesterday that a deal had been proposed with Faithwear but expressed doubts that it would be signed as the company has gone quiet.
Well- placed sources told IndependentSport that the deal had been scuppered by the bad publicity the club continues to attract. Our sister paper NewsDay this week reported that children of the founder members were demanding to be involved in the running of the club.
Dynamos will be participating in the Caf Champions League this year but have found the going tough on the transfer market and failed to attract top players.
To make matters worse, some of the players they had registered for the tournament have since opted to join more stable and better paying clubs.

Dynamos had registered Charles Chiutsa in the Champions League but the striker has since crossed the floor to join rivals Caps United together with Evans Gwekwerere.
Former Kiglon players Thomas Magorimbo, Dominic Bernard, Devon Chafa, Denver Mukamba and Philip Nhete are all training with Dynamos but have not yet signed contracts with the team. Team manager Richard Chihoro said that they were working on the contracts.
