BY ALBERT MARUFU THE Zimbabwe Cheetahs have targeted a quarterfinal Cup berth at the Hong Kong leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.

Caged in Pool F, the Cheetahs play their opening match against Australia on Friday before taking on Canada. Their last pool game will be against Argentina.

Bruce Hobson, the team manager said they have to win their opening game against the Australians as they would be vulnerable in the opening games.

“We want to reach at least the quarterfinals of the main Cup and I am sure we can achieve that. “All we have to do is win two of our pool matches.

“We have to win the opening match against Australia and then the one against Canada. We have beaten Argentina before so I think we can still do it again,” he said.

Hobson said that the team would not be affected by the absence of head coach Liam Middleton who could not make it to Hong Kong owing to commitments at his British club Bristol.
