BY KHULANI NKABINDE Upcoming house music artist, Vanessa “Lady Vee” Muzarurwi says she plans to take her music career to a higher level this year.

Lady Vee has gained fame following her own rendition of Khulekani “Samazaza” Sibanda’s hit song Ngidlimal’yami.

Her version is causing waves on the entertainment scene in Bulawayo.

She told StandardLife&Style in an interview that she worked with Queens Park East suburb-based producer Petros “2Nyce” Malemane.

“I started working with him last year and the projects that we have done together are excellent. We promise more exciting releases,” she said.

She also recorded another song, Be With You under Malemane’s Nyce Beats Records.

Lady Vee said the two songs are part of a compilation album she is working on.

“I hope to release my debut album soon,” she said.

Lady Vee said she started pursuing music seriously on the local scene after her return from South Africa where she worked with house-music group Omasaka in Johannesburg.

She discovered her talent when she was still at school where she took part in numerous music competitions.

“I used to take part in music competitions at school and I won a number of them.

“That is when I realised that I had potential and I did not have second thoughts about pursuing music after school,” said the musician who is also a budding businesswoman, running a salon in Bulawayo.
