Bosso has won seven of their 12 league matches while Monoz have won three and drew twice.
Brian Mapfumo scored the only goal of the afternoon after Bosso defender Lawson Nkomo needlessly lost possession just outside the box and Mapfumo, who needed no second invitation, blasted past Ariel Sibanda after 24 minutes of play.
Bosso nearly equalised seven minutes later, when their enterprising midfielder Eric Mudzingwa powered home a cracker 40 metres from the Monoz goalline, which missed the target by a whisker hitting the side netting.
In the second stanza, Monoz emerged from the tunnel the better of the two sides with a free-flowing passing game that saw Highlanders chasing shadows for the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Monoz nearly doubled their advantage when second half substitute Malvern Dumbura latched on to a forward ball only to shoot wide with Sibanda to beat under pressure from Innocent Mapuranga.
However Bosso took control of the game just 10 minutes from the full-time whistle and could have scored if it was not for their wayward finishing and a few moments of brilliance from Tapuwa Mafunga in goals for Monos.
