Sunday Chidzambwa’s Black Leopards promoted

FORMER Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa, who is now in charge of Black Leopards, guided the side to the ABSA Premier Soccer League after beating Bay United 2-0 in the second leg of the promotion/relegation match at the Tshifulanani yesterday.

Goals from Raymond Monama and Mongezi Bobe handed Lidoda Duvha a deserved victory after the first leg between the teams on Wednesday evening had ended goalless. Leopards last played in the top flight in the 2007/08 season.

Chidzambwa declared after the match that he will not be leaving Black Leopards following their promotion into the top league. The former Dynamos coach quit premiership side Free State Stars last year and joined Black Leopards. The pitch at the Tshifulanani Stadium was hardly fit for a match of this magnitude and importance, proving to be simply too bumpy and uneven for either team to string passing moves together.

Nonetheless, Leopards started brightly and took the lead in the 10th minute before the second goal came in the 56th minute of the match. — Own Staff/ Independent Online
