D-Day for Maneta, Teclar

Standard People
BY MELISSA MPOFUZimbabwean representatives in the Big Brother Stargame Maneta and Teclar Mazanhi will tonight know whether they will proceed with their stay in the Downville house or be passengers on the next flight back home.

After spending a week in the game, the two were put up for possible eviction by a random nominations machine ahead of the first eviction tonight. Tanzania’s Hilda and Julio are also up for eviction.

Local followers of the reality television show are waiting with bated breath to see if the Zimbabwean housemates will survive the first eviction. Some, however,  think that this may be a fake eviction show where the housemates will be told that they have been pranked, like previous editions where usually the first eviction is a prank by Big Brother. However, considering the large number of housemates this year, the eviction might be real.

Teclar said she was affected by the nomination news because she left her job at Studio 263 to join Big Brother.

“I left my job for Big Brother and I really sacrificed a lot to be in this game,” she said.

Her sister Maneta said it was unfair to be nominated by a random machine as compared to previous editions of the show where housemates would nominate each other. The nominations though proved to be a blessing in disguise as they made the two get out of their shell quickly by engaging with other housemates and giving viewers a chance to get to know them.

On the other hand, Roki seems to be playing popular among the show viewers as his name is constantly appearing on the BBA television straps with fans praising him.
