Mutare polytechnic hosts ztisu games

The Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZTISU) will next week select teams from various sporting disciplines in Mutare to represent the country at the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association games (Cucsa) pencilled for Namibia in July this year.

ZTISU president Alfred Rutanha confirmed the development to Standard- sport adding that the preparations for the event were at an advanced stage.‘’Everything is now in order, we have finished all the logistics.

 

“Mutare Polytechnic is going to host this year’s ZTISU games. We have many disciplines which include soccer, tennis, chess, volleyball, netball, among others, which will be competed for,’’ he said.

‘’We are going to select outstanding players who are going to represent the country at the college and universities games  in Namibia from 16 to 22 of July this year. This year competition will be tough as some of the students are playing in various competitive leagues in the country,’’ he added.

Mutare Polytechnic sports director and chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Stanford Chaonza said the Eastern border city was now ready to host the four-day sporting extravaganza. —By Kenneth Nyangani.
