Kuda Musharu scored the priceless goal in the 46th minute after getting the better of FC Platinum defender Zephaniah Ngodzo and Daniel Vheremu to tap in Osbone Mukaradare’s through pass.

Monomotapa now face the winner of today’s match between Dynamos and CAPS United.

Monomotapa were the first to come out of their shell in the third minute with diminutive midfielder Ronald Chitiyo dribbling past a cluster of defenders before setting up Hillary Mugoniwa, who shot over the bar.

Six minutes later, Russell Madamombe was unlucky as his header hit the left upright post with Tafadzwa Dube a beaten man.

FC Platinum’s best chance in the first half fell to Donald Ngoma, whose shot was inches wide off goal.

In the 65th minute, man-of-the-match Artwell Mukandi did well to thwart Charles Sibanda from a free kick just from the 18 yard box.

Six minutes later, Mukandi was called into action again to save a Ngoma’s shot from an acute angle.

Monomotapa coach Biggie Zuze praised his charges after the match.

“We played well in the first 15 minutes and should have scored two goals. Our aim was to score an early goal to unsettle them, but the guys did well as they managed to score one goal which put us into the final.”

FC Platinum coach Tendai Chikuni said Mukandi proved to be the main difference between the two teams.
