It will be Capleton’s second tour of the country following his debut visit in 2010 during which he celebrated the 2011 New Year holiday with his Zimbabwean fans.

He performed at Andy Millar Hall on December 31 2010 and Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza on January 1 2011.

Red Rose Entertainment, which brought King Shango, as Capleton is popularly known, in 2010, will be hosting the Jamaican star on the upcoming tour.

Barbara Chikosi of Red Rose Entertainment said they had decided to bring back the musician to give reggae fans a good gig ahead of the festive season.

“We have a good working relationship with Capleton. He did well when he came in 2010 and he promised to come back,” said Chikosi.

“We have been constantly in touch with his management and we found December 7 as the appropriate date for him to reunite with his fans here.”

King Shango will be supported by a host of local musicians and disc jockeys.

Local musicians to perform at the event will include Winky D, Sniper Storm, Guspy Warrior, Lady Squander, Jiggaz, Lady B and Freeman.

Winky D has garnered popularity with his exciting lyrics while Sniper Storm has caught attention with his hard-hitting lines. Both are likely to give audiences memorable acts.

Guspy Warrior, who has been steadily rising on the dancehall scene, will be out to once again show that he is a serious contender for the dancehall throne.

Lady Squander will have a chance to exhibit the talent that has seen her standing firm against her male counterparts. The energetic artist has a history of mesmerising audiences with her dances.

Freeman of the Joina City fame will complement the dancehall stars with his soulful lyrics. Jiggaz and Lady B will spice up the gig with their unique acts.

The line-up of DJs that are set to rock the venue is exciting. They will be led by Templeman, whose international experience always sees him being on top of the situation.

With sound masters like Judgment Yard and Mighty Ducks billed to be among selectors of the day, the event is likely to be unforgettable.

Turntable talents in the form of Abra Simz, Smiley and Gary B will make the fiesta colourful.
