NEWLY appointed Warriors head coach Klaus Dieter-Pagels has presented his shocking wish list of assistant coaches that includes novices former Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa, Monomotapa assistant coach George Jojo and Mighty Warriors goalkeepers’ coach Nkululeko Dhlamini.

Warriors legend Peter Ndlovu is already in the set up by virtue of being the Under-23 coach while South Africa-based Ian Gorowa is Zifa’s choice for monitoring international players. Standardsport has it on good authority that the four are set to be unveiled as new assistants to Pagels.
Pagels also admitted that he had forwarded his preferred assistant coaches to Zifa, but refused to divulge their identities referring all questions to Zifa.
“You can talk to Zifa. I have forwarded the names to them. It is only Zifa that can make such an announcement,” said Pagels, who has never coached any national team.
The association’s chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze could only say the assistant coaches would be unveiled on Wednesday.
Mashingaidze said the announcement would be made at the proper time, when Zifa had gone through the names.
“I am not aware of any names that have been submitted to Zifa. The assistant coaches will be announced on Wednesday,” said Mashingaidze.

However, Standardsport understands that Pagels’ preferred choices of assistant coaches includes Jojo, Mutasa and Dhlamini.
“Pagels wants Mutasa, Jojo and Dhlamini as his assistants. Ndlovu will be there by virtue of being the Under-23 coach, while Zifa wants Gorowa to help them with checking on the performances of Zimbabweans plying their trade outside the country,” said the source.
Pagels, who holds a Uefa Pro Licence Certificate, has never coached a national team before. His only touchline experience were stints with German third-tier league sides VfL Staden and SV Lurup with no success. He has spent most of his time with Germany Football Association working with junior football development. This is how he came to Zimbabwe in 2010, on a government-to-government basis with his contract expiring in July next year.
Swaziland-based Mutasa was last year sacked by Dynamos after a string of poor results, notably the 3-0 away rout by Algerian side MC Algiers which nullified a 4-1 lead in the African Champions League preliminary stages.
The Monomotapa duo of Jojo and Dhlamini are also novices in international football coaching.
