This year the gallery extended its reach and invited artists from five provinces to submit their works for the exhibition.

The gallery’s assistant manager Georgina Maxim said they were looking forward to hosting young artists from various cities.

“We have sent invitations to young artists around the country mainly Harare, Mutare, Gweru, Masvingo and Bulawayo,” said Maxim.

The gallery has also approached donors to fund its 2013 projects.

“We have decided to approach donors for funding of this year’s projects so that we host as many exhibitions as possible. Our sales were satisfactory last year and we hope 2013 will be bigger.”

Gallery Delta opened its first exhibition of the year on January 19, which showcases a select collection of paintings, graphics, sculptures and multi-media pieces.

The gallery was established in 1975 and has become an important venue for the exhibition of paintings, graphics, mixed media, sculptures and ceramics.

Some of the artists who have showcased their works at the gallery include Lovemore Kambudzi, Admire Kamudzengerere, Johnson Zuze and Virgnia Chihota.
