The show is slated for February 2 and it will feature a number of local artists that are now based in South Africa.

Mabvudzi, who rose to popularity through the Shame and Nathan duo in 2002 with hit songs Aripo and Ndofara , will be the main act at a show that will feature other Zimbabwean artists that include Sekuru Ray, Blingz Masters, and Mad Fisher.

Mabvudzi said he looked forward to performing at the show ahead of a busy schedule in 2013.

“This year is going to be a busy one for me. I will have collaborations with artists coming from East Africa and I will embark on my first European tour. I will also perform in Canada for the first time this year,” said Mabvudzi

Mabvudzi, who relocated to South Africa a few years ago and has made a name for himself in Cape Town, promised to promote upcoming Zimbabwean musicians living in South Africa through his music and an online radio programe which he anchors.

“I am going to lift up music from other Zimbabweans on my radio programme on OneAfro radio. I have managed to make Cape Town my home outside Zimbabwe and I have organised shows for many Zimbabwean artists through my record label Afri Kalcha entertainment.”

He said he would have many shows lined-up in Zimbabwe following the signing of a new management deal.

“I managed to sign a management deal with one of the best companies and I will be performing back home more often this year.”
