The calendar kicked off on January 26 with the Zone Six squad conducting a training session in Kwekwe in preparation for the annual regional tournament to be staged in Namibia from May 25 to 26.

The Zone Six team will also train in Triangle on February 23 before a final camp at Old Hararians and Alex Sports Club on March 9 and 10.

The first international event will be held in Gaborone, Botswana on July 8 to 13 but participation is optional.

Another high profile event is set for August 5-6 in Turin, Italy, where athletes aged 35 and above will take part. The Champion of Champions will be held in Guadalajara, Spain on November 6 to 10.

Meanwhile, ZKU will this Saturday hold their annual general meeting at Kwekwe Sports Club. The meeting will look at issues that include the national executive report and treasurer’s report as well as considering amendments to the constitution.

ZKU is also expected to adopt the Strategic Plan for the period 2013 – 2017.
