Police confirmed the incident which took place at Farfell farm where the deceased, Tinashe Muchena, was employed as a farm worker.
Muchena’s body was found last week in a state of advanced decomposition by Aaron Simbini who was fetching firewood in a bush. Police found an empty plastic bottle with about 50ml of a smelly, choking and unspecified poison beside the body.
The deceased brother, Herbert told the police that Muchena had often threatened to take his life because he could not stomach being HIV-positive.
The deceased is reported to have left his workplace in November last year, heading to an unknown destination but his brother Herbert observed that he was carrying an empty 50 ml plastic container. Herbert said he thought the deceased was leaving for South Africa where he used to frequent.
Police ruled out foul play.
