The annual exhibition runs from July 24-26 under the theme Extract Value, Boost Economic Growth.

The theme advocates for players in the mining, engineering, transport and related sectors to prioritise value-addition in order to realise profits.

ZITF Company deputy general manager, Noma Ndlovu said preparations for this year’s edition were in full swing.

“On the foreign side, our agents in South Africa and China have been actively selling the exhibition. 10% of the exhibitors we have to date are foreign, mainly from South Africa. Last year at this time, foreign exhibitors made up only 4% of total exhibitors,” said Ndlovu.

The local exhibitors’ campaign includes publicising the event in print, electronic and social media, as well as on the internet.

ZITF Company is also conducting sales visits to all cities with mining interests inviting traditional and new exhibitors.

The ZITF Company officials attended the recently-held Chamber of Mines Annual General Meeting and conference to further market the exhibition to top decision makers in the mining industry.

Ndlovu said the exhibition firm is positive that the event will be successful given the response received to date.

“Total space taken so far is just over 4 300 square metres, a 10% increase in space sales at this time last year and 65% of total space we sold for the 2012 edition.

“For the first time, we are opening up the exhibition to the building and construction sectors as these are critical support sectors to the Mine Entra traditional sectors,” said Ndlovu.

3 000 attended MINE ENTRA 2012

ZITF said over 3 000 business visitors from Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries registered during Mine Entra 2012. The visitors were mainly made up of purchasing managers, mine managers and representatives from engineering companies. The emphasis was on products available to small-scale miners.

Mine Entra is a specialised international exhibition which caters for the mutually compatible sectors of mining, engineering and transport and their associated industries.

According to ZITF, mid-year timing is for maximum convenience and corresponds to the industry’s main buying and tendering period.

The event is only open to traders and business visitors.
