FC Platinum finally got it right when they collected their first set of maximum points after six games, with 1-0 victory over Black Rhinos at Mandava yesterday.

A 16th minute header by Nelson Mazivisa was all the platinum miners needed to appease their fans, who were growing impatient with the team’s winless run.

FC Platinum assistant coach Tendai Chikuni was a relieved man after the final whistle and praised his boys for putting up a brave fight. Black Rhinos coach Arthur Tutani only had this to say after the match; “We lost yes, but we lost with dignity.”

In Beitbridge, Our correspondent reports that, Peter Manoti’s 100% winning streak at Dulibadzimu as Tripple B coach remained intact, with a comfortable 4-2 win over Buffaloes in Castle Lager premiership match yesterday.

Buffaloes, who were still riding high on a wave of success after a 3-2 win over Dynamos, had their joy short lived as early as the 17th minute, when Alick Marime completed a counter attack initiated by Maxwell Mavhuto.

Marime made it two in the 40th minute.

After the breather, Marime turned provider for Webster Chingodza who scored in the 46th minute.

Marime was back again to complete his hat-trick in style, in the 62nd minute when he got to Simon Mayengeni’s pass.

Jacob Muzokomba and Tawanda Mareya reduced arrears for the visitors with goals in the 70th and 80th minute respectively, but a late comeback for Buffaloes proved difficult.
