Police in Mutare last week confirmed the incident.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda said on May 16 this year, Temwa Garirekufa went to his home with his friend, Martin Manjeya.
Knowing that his 13-year-old daughter was sleeping alone in her room, Garirekufa ordered her to open the door.
He allegedly forced her to share her bed with Manjeya without the minor’s consent. Chananda said Manjeya allegedly raped the teenager once during the night.
“The following day he ordered the minor not to report the matter to anyone. He allegedly gave Garirekufa US$90 before vanishing.
“The minor went on to report the matter to the police,” said Chananda.
Garirekufa and his wife allegedly ran away after realising that their daughter had reported the matter to the police.
Chananda said the accused were still at large and appealed to members of the public to provide information that could lead to their arrest.
