Bosso lost 1-0 to Chicken Inn, 2-1 to CAPS United and to FC Platinum (3-1 after penalty shootout) in Masvingo resulting in pressure building for coach Kelvin Kaindu to return the team to winning ways.

Highlanders surrendered pole position to Chicken Inn on Friday, but could retain it with a win over CAPS United this afternoon.

However, today they could find themselves in a difficult position as they face the same CAPS United side that beat them at the National Sports Stadium in the reverse fixture.

Though devoid of the services of the suspended midfielder Peter “Rio” Moyo and defender Dumisani Ndlovu, Kaindu believes it is time to stop the losing streak.

“We definitely have to win this game and besides Moyo and Ndlovu who are suspended, all the players are ready for the game. CAPS United are a good side. They beat us in the reverse fixture, but that is history,” he said.

Kaindu added that despite the losses, his job was not under threat at all as bad patches were common in football.

If the Highlanders trio of Milton Ncube, scorer of a brilliant free kick when the two sides met two weeks ago, Masimba Mambare and Mthulisi Maphosa tick, then the Highlanders coach might be smiling at the end of the day.

In goals, Munyaradzi Diya has done well in the games that he has been trusted to guard goal but captain Innocent Mapuranga has lacked consistency at the back.

CAPS United’s Taurai Mangwiro said they were expecting a tough battle from Highlanders.

“We expect a very tough match, but are very much prepared for it. They lost to us at the National Sports stadium, but that is now history,” he said.

He also revealed that they would be missing the services of the suspended Tawanda Nyamandwe and the injured defender Ronald Pfumbidzayi.

Mangwiro also said they were still waiting for the paperwork of left-sided players Benson Maglas and Malawian Gift Phiri.

“We were hoping to use them in this tie, but their papers are not yet in order,” he said.

In other league matches, Motor Action will take on Monomotapa at Motor Action Sports Club while Black Rhinos engage FC Platinum at Rimuka.
