MultiChoice launches New Educational Channel on DStv

MultiChoice Africa is supporting learners and educational efforts through the launch of an exciting new educational channel, Channel ED.

It is “back to school” season and to celebrate this, MultiChoice Africa is supporting learners and educational efforts through the launch of an exciting new educational channel, Channel ED.

Channel ED joined the DStv family of channels on January 14. It airs on DStv channel 318. The channel gives all MultiChoice subscribers access to an exciting knowledge portal of both global high-end documentaries and new locally-produced content.

Offerings range from physics to finance, from culture to chemistry and from the natural to the supernatural. It brings together the learned and the learning so that viewers access the world’s leading minds in an interactive, vibrant arena of innovations and discovery.

“MultiChoice is committed to equip learners and communities with the best educational information to ensure that our audience gain information in a fun and exciting manner. Channel ED’s broad content is aimed at ages 15 to 49 and is yet another demonstration of our commitment to bringing families together through the ultimate family viewing experience,” says Liz Dziva PR & Publicity Manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe.

The channel will broadcast six hours of new content every week day, including documentaries, short form material and presenter-driven programmes. “Channel ED is about expanding the world’s knowledge on Africa through knowledge sharing thereby changing perceptions of Africa for the better,” says Executive Producer of Channel ED, Danie Ferreira.
