Zoey Sifelani has taken a dig at recently “repented” fellow dancer Beverly Sibanda who is reported to have been asked to leave the dance floor by Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) ministries.

Zoey, who was Bev’s fiercest dance floor rival, applauded Prophet Magaya for a “job well done”.

“I think that girl has a demon of some sort,” she said. “I thank Magaya for a job well done if indeed she has repented. Zvimwe zvinhu zvaaita zvaida Mwari.” [She needed saving because some of the things she did were un-Godly.]

Bev has on numerous occasions been reported to have been involved in fights with her group, the Sexy Angels and sometimes with revellers. Coupled with the alleged violent behaviour are her sexually charged dance routines, one of which involved the insertion of the top part of a 750ml empty bottle into her private parts, which left heads turning. Asked if she was not happy that Magaya had rid her of competition, Zoey said it was upon Bev to quit dancing for good, or to become decent.

“It depends on what she wants really. It is totally up to her to quit forever,” she said.

Contacted for comment, Bev exhibited a calmer side saying, “I do not really care what she says now because I am not in that industry anymore.

“I groomed her and now I have stopped dancing, so she can continue,” she said.

Pressed to comment further on her move, Bev referred all questions to broadcaster Oscar Pambuka who she said was authorised to comment by Magaya.

Pambuka confirmed Zoey’s assertions.

“It is true, she [Bev] needed God; even Bev herself concedes her behaviour before the deliverance session was unbearable,” said Pambuka. “She is now more calm and composed.”

Pambuka said Bev was delivered at a sermon at the church last Thursday together with 14 other girls where “demons” manifested. “Demons manifested and I can tell you she is now a full member of PHD as she was delivered on Thursday together with 14 other girls,” said Pambuka.

He said all 15 would get shops along Chinhoyi Street and the numbers keep increasing, with Zoey herself having expressed interest in joining the bandwagon.

“Even Zoey expressed interest in changing her lifestyle,” said Pambuka.

“It cannot be established whether all of them are sincere about repentance but in Beverly’s case, she had never been to PHD, but was called by the spirit from where she was.”

Zoey however, rubbished Pambuka’s assertions and said she had no plans of going to PHD.

“Magitare ndichasiya kana ndachembera (I will leave the showbiz industry when I am old),” she said.

“If I want to go to church I will go with all my heart, not because someone offers me a container full of imported clothes to woo me to church. What kind of repentance is that?

“If Bev has repented that way, it is her choice and it depends on what she wants.

“I cannot stop dancing because this is the talent that I have and even God knows this is how I survive. I am not doing anything wrong.” She said she doubted that Bev would change her behaviour.
