It was all joy for the trio of veteran midfielder and former Warriors skipper Esrom Nyandoro, one of the longest serving Zimbabwean players in the Absa PSL, Khama Billiat and lethal striker Cuthbert Malajila.

Legend Peter Ndlovu, now team manager at the Brazilians, was also part of the celebrations.

It is however not the same story for a flurry of local players, who after having excelled locally joined the great trek down south where they dismally failed in the Super Diski.

In 2012, Denver Mukamba was named the Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year while playing for champions Dynamos, and attracted the attention of Absa PSL outfit Bidvest Wits, but he has failed to find his feet in South Africa.

2011 Golden Boot winner Rodreck Mutuma, who joined Bloemfontein Celtic from DeMbare in 2013, was shown the door by the South African side after a difficult 15-month stay and is back at Dynamos and could feature for the local champions against Shabanie Mine at Maglas this afternoon.

Former Highlanders striker, Obadiah Tarumbwa, whose career took him to Belgium and Cyprus and back to Africa in Kenya, where he played for Sofapaka FC, also had a brief stint with University of Pretoria (AmaTuks) from June last year, but was recently axed and he is back home, playing for PSL returnees Bantu Rovers.

After spending four years in Poland from 2007 to 2011 from Monomotapa, Takesure Chinyama was back home where he joined Dynamos for a brief spell before he moved to South African giants Orlando Pirates in 2012 but a nagging injury saw him fail there and has since crossed to Platinum Stars.

Midfielder Ramson Zhuwawo is now at Chicken Inn after he was released by South African side AmaZulu, a club that he played for from 2010 to 2013 and was joined by former Bosso striker Mkhokheli Dube from the US Major League Soccer in 2012.

Both are now back home at Chicken Inn with Dube joining at the beginning of last year and Zhuwawo this year.

Simba Sithole is another player who failed to make a mark in South Africa and has returned home to Dynamos together with Oscar Machapa, released by Moroka Swallows last year as well as Tafadzwa Rusike who was released by Ajax Cape Town in June last year.
