ONE of the country’s leading food chain stores, Spar, in conjunction with Harare Round Table, will this morning hold the 16th edition of the annual Spar Family Fun Run at Old Georgians Sports Club.

The event is aimed at raising funds that will be donated to Childline.
Speaking to Standardsport on Friday, Spar Advertising manager Karen Dhliwayo said the stage was set for a family fun run which gives fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers and children a chance to take part in a non-competitive athletics event.
“The event will give family members a chance to take part in a non-competitive event. The stage has been set. What is left is for those who want to participate to start registering.
Registration which will start at 8am and participants will be expected to part with US$5 for the five kilometre walk and the 10km run.
The warm up to the races will start just after registration and the race is set to start at 9am.
Sponsors include Premier Auto Service through their brands, Land Rover, Ford and Jaguar, Red Seal, Pro Brands as well as The Standard newspaper, just to name but a few.

Speaking on the sponsors, Dhliwayo said; “These other sponsors will assist in the production and branding of T-Shirts. These T-shirts will then be sold to the public and the proceeds will be channeled to Childline.”
