The fundraising golf tournament and dinner is an annual event hosted by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander Constantine Chiwenga.

Proceeds from the occasion are aimed at benefitting Musha Mukadzi Armed Forces Foundation — an organisation that specialises in cancer prevention and awareness campaigns, as well as assisting those affected by the diseases.

Musha Mukadzi national chairperson Mary Chiwenga announced the guests for the event, while inviting corporates and individuals to come and support the initiative.

“This year’s CDF amateur golf day will be graced by General Mwamuyange of Tanzania in the company of his wife, while other delegates from the Region’s Defence Forces are set to participate at the event including those from South Africa, Zambia and DRC,” said Chiwenga.

“Musha Mukadzi, the beneficiaries of the funds, will continue in its quest to save lives embarking on numerous cancer programmes. Having realised that due to ignorance and lack of knowledge, most cancer cases go undetected until they are at an advanced stage, leading to loss of lives, Musha Mukadzi’s drive for the year 2015-16 is aimed at continued cancer awareness and prevention campaign, as well as early detection of cancer,” she added.

Individuals interested in participating in the tournament will have to part with $50 and $200 for groups of four. The dinner will cost $300 per person while a corporate table of 10 will be valued at $3 000.
