The result means the platinum miners finish the opening half of the campaign on 22 points while their host Chapungu ended the opening stanza of the season with 23 points.

FC Platinum had to go into battle without a number of their regular first team players, including Wisdom Mutasa, Walter Musona, Donald Ngoma, Gift Bello and Aaron Katebe.

But after yesterday’s draw FC Platinum Coach Norman Mapeza was happy with his charges so far in the campaign. “Our target was to go beyond the 20-point mark and I am happy we have achieved it. If you look at the log standings you will see that there is not much of a gap between us and the leading teams.

“Despite the fact that we are missing several players, we had a good result. I am happy with the performance; those who played did their best,” said Mapeza.

Chapungu head coach John Nyikadzino was grateful with a point but highlighted their impotence in front of goal as his major worry.
