Splash Paints manager Anis Patel confirmed the tour yesterday, saying Hyder will first go to Mutare, before heading to Bulawayo.

Growing up, Hyder (whose height is at 2,4 metres) used to encounter immense segregation from his peers because of his “different” appearance but now all that seems like water under the bridge as he has momentously shot to fame.

He told this reporter through an interpreter, that he feels “fantastic” because of the overwhelming reception he had received in Harare and said it is one of those defining moments since he grew up under colossal ostracism for his unusual height.

“I feel fantastic. While I was growing up, people used to sideline me because I was a bit different from others, but now because I am famous for it, we meet, interact although they used to leave me alone. That is part and parcel of life,” he said.

He also took the chance to openly divulge his childhood aspiration of being a soldier also pointing out that he had not given up on it and should he get the chance, he would grab it with both hands.

“When I was young I wanted to join the army and if I get the chance I will definitely go and join the army,” said Hyder.
