The talented yet troublesome dancer was part of Fungisai’s frontline when she serenaded fans at Odyssey Club in Kadoma last week.

Fungisai said she was aware that Generator had a history of indiscipline but said she had no option but to give her another chance.

“A lot of things have been written about Generator but as Christians, we must forgive. I sing gospel and I should lead by example. She has promised to reform and I have embraced her.

“She is a talented dancer and vocalist. She came for rehearsals at my band and I noticed that she is very talented. She just needs proper guidance,” said the soft spoken Fungisai.

Generator said she was grateful that she had been given another chance and promised to reform.

“I have done things that I am not proud of in the past but I have changed. I just want to look after my children using my God-given talent,” she said.

Generator carved a name for herself during her stint with Jah Prayzah’s Third Generation. She was popular with fans because of her well drilled dances.

However, she was fired after putting the name of the band into disrepute.

On New Year ’s Eve in 2013 it is alleged Generator picked up a fan’s phone at the Harare International Conference Centre where they had a gig with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and Sulumani Chimbetu, and demanded payment to return it.

She demanded $50 as a token of appreciation from the fan. However, the fan reported the matter to the police, leading to her arrest. She was subsequently fired.

The talented dancer was recruited by chimurenga singer Jairos Chabvonga. She was then fired after misrepresenting to promoters that she was the owner of the band.

Since then she has been hopping from one band to another as a session musician.
