The 24-year-old model shrugged off the challenge of a myriad of contestants drawn from 62 other countries to land a top five spot and eventually win the Miss Intercontinental Africa title.
Hunda garnered so much support from Zimbabweans all over the world and friends of Zimbabwe who voted for her online. She polled 4 733 votes which earned her a spot in the top five.
However, Hunda could not win the ultimate title — the Miss Intercontinental 2015 — which was won by Valentina Rasulova of Russia while the first and second runner up titles went to Christi McGarry of Philippines and USA’s Biranne Bailey respectively. Katherine Garcia of Venezuela and Hunda made up the top five.
“From the time Tendai arrived in Germany, she showed grace, humility and patriotism to Zimbabwe knowing that she was an ambassador and promoting Zimbabwe and its tourism,” said Hunda’s manager Washington Ali.
Categories included the national costume which was won by Indonesia, Miss Photogenic won by Thailand, swimwear, evening wear as well as question and answer session. Miss Congeniality went to Spain and winner of Internet popularity went to Vietnam.

“Tendai’s eloquence, confidence and determination earned her a spot in top five. She stood shoulder to shoulder with the powerhouses of pageantry, that is Philippines, USA, Venezuela and Russia,” said Ali.
“Sincere thanks to Zimbo Live which interviewed Tendai on Skype and helped with the publicity.”
Hunda’s reign as Miss Intercontinental Africa will see her fight for the rights of the girl child in Zimbabwe and Africa in general.
Hunda said her desire was to see Zimbabwe’s pageantry and modelling industry thriving and moving to another level.
