HIGHLY-RATED Triangle attacking midfielder Malvin Gaki scored the only goal of the match in the second half as the visitors beat troubled Tsholotsho at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

Gaki came to the end of Nelson Meson’s cross from the right and blasted the ball past goalkeeper Godwin Saungweme to pile misery on Tsholotsho, who will be lucky to survive the chop this season after surviving on the last day last year.

That goal was always coming as David Mandigora’s men kept on pressing Tsholotsho, with Gaki enjoying his game in the midfield, but with little goal-mouth action.

Mandigora, whose boys dispatched Highlanders at home in their last encounter last week, was delighted to get three points from Tsholotsho.

“I am happy to get three points, especially away from home. It has been a long time since we last did that. It is important to keep getting points because this league is very tough,” Mandigora said.

But Tsholotsho could have won it in the first half, but striker Blessing Sibanda wasted an opportunity two minutes into the game, missing the target with a volley with only goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu to beat.

Bruno Madanhire was also a culprit five minutes to the break, miscuing his effort in front of Mudimu.

Despite reeling precariously in the danger zone, with two teams getting the boot this year, Tsholotsho coach Lizwe Sweswe is still putting on a brave face.

“We failed to take our chances, especially in the first 10 minutes. We wanted the three points. We will fight to the bitter end. Despite losing key players, my boys are playing well,” Sweswe said.
