The gig, slated for Borrowdale Race Course, consists of local artists, including beat boxer Probeatz, Simba Tagz, Tehn Diamond, Tammy Moyo and Ammara Brown, among others.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Brown said it will be a surreal moment to perform with Delazy as she cherishes her unique sound which resonates with hers.

“I’m a huge fan of Toya and I think she is a different kind of an artist in South Africa and the continent and her music resonates with mine, so I am looking forward to it,” she said.

Brown, who has been unleashing polished performances at top gigs of late, said she was ready to bring her magic to complement Toya Delazy on stage.

Organisers of the event said the show was not just about bringing a foreign star to perform in the country, but also a way of promoting local talent.

The show is being organised by Sound Event Management and it is part of Toya Delazy’s ongoing Rocking the City tour which will see her perform over at 20 shows in different countries around the continent.

Tickets are already on sale at Sound Event Management’s office where ordinary, golden circle and VIP tickets are going for $15, $25 and $40 respectively.
