This is Ozamba’s second album after the first he recorded in 2010, Chienda Mberi, which however failed to make a mark on the music scene.

But the latest five-track album released last year has witnessed the hit Chewa song Kugwilanchito Niyesu getting favourable airplay on radio stations, especially Radio Zimbabwe.

Another song, Musakundikana is also proving a favourite to many and is receiving airplay on ZiFM’s Gweru-based radio 98,4FM.

Kugwilanchito Niyesu is Chewa for working with Jesus.

In the song, Ozamba encourages people to place Jesus in all the work they do. The song has an instrumental to it.

In Musakundikane, the artist sings about a new “Jerusalem” where people should surrender their life to Jesus.

“I am delighted that my music is now getting regular airplay and many people are asking about it,” he said.

“I also urge other national radio stations to cast their nets wide to catch upcoming talent which is abundant outside Harare.”

Other songs on the album are Mufaro Tese and Pamusoro Pemvura.

The 31-year-old said he was confident that his career in music was bright and said he looked forward to work in collaborations with Malawian artists to blend his music in Shona and Chewa languages.

Born in Shamva in 1985, Ozamba attended Chishawasha Primary School and Morris Depot Secondary School. He moved to the Midlands capital in 2007 when his parents got work at a plot outside Gweru.
