What are tribalists?

My People, Today I want to start by bringing to your attention an observation which I have made over the years.

letter to my people BY DOCTOR STOP IT

It is a phenomenon that we need to nip in the bud as it is not useful to the development of this country.

It is the ease with which politicians poison ethnic relations among Zimbabweans by playing up ethnic differences.

When Dumiso Dabengwa broke away from The Party, Zanu PF and revived Zapu, he was immediately labelled a tribalist, whatever that means.

The same label awaited Welshman Ncube following the MDC split in which he and Gibson Sibanda were labelled tribalists by their colleagues in their party, including very, very senior officials.

Their parties were immediately given the tag of regional political parties.

Moregirls went as far as calling Welshman and his outfit village politicians.

When politicians from north of Kwekwe formed their political parties, they were not termed tribalists or regional political parties.

Of course, you all saw that during this week’s spontaneous demonstrations against Sarah Mahoka and Eunice Nomthandazo Sandi, there were placards which had messages denouncing what the marchers termed tribalism.

My question is: What acts of tribalism did Sarah Mahoka and Nomthandazo Eunice Sandi engage in?

Or was it another instinctive dig at Nomthandazo in which those who differ with a politician from another tribe accuse them of being tribalists in order to silence them?

Like accusing white people of being racists and leave them with the burden of proving that they are not.

Obviously when Mboko said it was not automatic that a Karanga would rule this country, that was statesmanship and not tribalism.

And when The Bobster said Kalangas in South Africa were common thieves, that was, well, fatherly concern and not tribalism!

World on fire

Developments in the western world where they always falsely claim to support fairness, good governance and human rights are proving to be very exciting.

With the USA becoming more and more inward looking and taking less interest in foreign affairs, this means as African leaders, we can now rule you, our people in the best way that we deem fit.

We can now rule you as we please and this includes but is not limited to stealing elections, willfully violating and re-writing constitutions, violations of human rights, including disappearances.

Thankfully, those interfering Americans have seen the light as led by their leader who in all honesty should be called Mr Tramp.

He has successfully undermined the judiciary, and as if borrowing from African leaders, told the media to go and hang while intolerance for minorities and other religions has increased.

Now that is what I call being American, home of cowards and slaves. Just like in Africa.

Of course the Brits were the pioneers of that kind of thinking with their Brexit nonsense which had a contagious effect on America.

France and Germany will be having equally important elections and we wait to see how they will vote.

Follow the leader

There is no shadow of doubt about the fact that I wield a lot of power. Some of it can be very embarrassing. Last week, I decided to go and watch one of my boys playing basketball where he plays for the national team.

I will not entertain allegations that his place in the national basketball team is not owed to merit.

Anyway, can you imagine a sizeable number of cabinet ministers also pitched up to help me watch and cheer my son.

If that is not paying tribute and homage, then I don’t know what is. Of course we were able to discuss a few factional issues as we pretended to watch the match.

Stop it, Sarah and Sandi

Poor Sarah Mahoka and Eunice Nomthandazo Sandi. They were cheering when the “spontaneous” demonstrations against Joice Queen Bee Mujuru were taking place in 2014.

I hope they are equally not surprised by the “spontaneous” demonstrations that happened in all the country’s 10 provinces, with demonstrators carrying placards with the same message.

Kkkkkkkkkk. Similar placards can often be seen at national events held at the Heroes Acre, meaning those demos received support from some government departments.

Mandiitawefodya must be shaking in her boots because like Calamity Sarah, she publicly rebuked Ngwena.

Watch this space as events of last week were the first sign that rather than continue fighting, the key figures in Lacoste and G40 are working towards some form of convenient unity pact.

Of course not everybody is well meaning as one G40 stalwart discovered after a suspected attempt on his life amid the negotiations for unity.

Strong leadership

With thousands of hectares of land that I have amassed over the years, I am still not satisfied. As you must know by now, our business enterprises are poorly run so we don’t make much profit. Actually, our businesses are run in the same manner that we run the country.

And predictably, they have been run into the ground. The only business left is that of grabbing more land.

What I enjoy most is to grab land from powerless small farmers in which homes are demolished and children’s lives destroyed.

I prefer doing that in the middle of the rain season and just before winter.

If families become homeless and children lose school time, that’s not my problem.

Forget that nonsense about being the mother of the nation. I have four children only.
