The army side took the lead in the 14th minute through veteran striker Lot Chiwunga who punished ZPC Kariba defenders for ball watching, finishing off a rebound following a spill by goalkeeper Tendai Hove.

Stunned by the goal ZPC Kariba came out of their shell and started dictating the pace with dependable Francisco Zekumbawira proving to be a handful to the Rhinos defence.

Zekumbawira would get the much-needed equaliser for the hosts when he received the ball from near the half way line before beating two defenders with sheer speed and strength, firing an unstoppable shot past Rhinos keeper Herbert Rusawo.

At Dulivhadzimo Stadium in Beitbridge, basement side Tsholotsho FC blew a two-nil lead as a brace by Ralph Kawondera late in the second half secured a precious point for visiting Triangle in a Castle Premier League match yesterday.

Kawondera who came in after 73 minutes for Benson Maglasi scored from a free kick five minutes after his introduction before completing his brace in the 87th minute to deny Tsholotsho their first win of the season.

Tsholotsho had looked on course to secure their first win of the campaign when they raced to a two-goal lead, courtesy of Trust Nyabinde’s 30th minute strike and Ayanda Ncube’s goal in the 72nd minute.
