The club set the ball rolling last week with polished acts from rising contemporary musician Baba Harare and veteran dancer Wasu and the Syndicate Girls.

The Standard Style caught up with Club Mandisa director Bonface Nyamanhindi, who said the lining up of high-profile gigs was designed to lure large crowds to the joint.

“We are anticipating huge crowds this festive season and we have put in place various high-profile shows for our audience,” he said.

“We are currently in the process of negotiating contracts with the various artists whom we are looking forward to engage. “What is interesting is the fact that we have a mixed bag of entertainers from sungura, Zimdancehall, house, chimurenga and rhumba among others.”

BV Labien and Diamond Musica are expected to lead on the rhumba front. Sungura artists Tatenda “Spanner Boy” Pinjisi of the Saina fame, Peter Moyo and Romeo Gasa, among others, are expected to quench the desires of sungura lovers.

Club Mandisa is known for hosting exciting pole dancers and unique dance groups that have added flavour. The resident dance group — Mandisa Kings & Queens — has been a revelation.

“As a club, we are happy that pole dancers have spiced up things and we will continue to bring them for shows to meet the demands of our audience,” Nyamanhindi added.

Thursday and Friday nights have become popular with revellers as some exciting and superb dances have been displayed by the pole dancers. Nyamanhindi, who is one of the top Zimbabwean promoters, said they were anticipating big business in the entertainment industry and as Club Mandisa, they were looking forward to an incident-free festive season.
