Station manager Mgcini Moyo confirmed the “new recruitments”, adding that it was the station’s attempt to “shake things up” on the airwaves. “Yes, they are now part of us and they will officially be on air on February 24 when our broadcasting season starts, but they have already started working with the team here,” said Moyo.

Although Moyo would not disclose more details about the show, besides that they will be part of, it is understood that the jester and beauty queen will take the breakfast show slot which runs from morning to midday.

“For us, it is about growth and expansion hence we have engaged Ashley as a daughter of Victoria Falls who has the elements we were searching for and Carl is an international brand. We are using the two as key elements to make our morning slot more interesting,” he said.

The duo is expected to spark the airwaves in the resort town generating new interest from their followers.

“This is the first time I will be on that side of radio [as a presenter] and I am excited. Listeners can expect a bubbly, fun and constructive noise personality from me,” said Morgen.

Although Ncube could not be reached for comment he was quoted in recent reports to have permanently moved to the border town where he imposed himself as an unofficial tourism ambassador.

Owned by Fairtalk Communications, who are also the owners of Bulawayo’s SkyzMetro FM, Breeze FM is the resort town’s first radio station which turns a year later this month.
