The Mairos hitmaker recently told The Standard Style that he has finished working on a new project — a seven-track album titled Kutsemurirana — which will be launched in a few weeks’ time.

“I realised that I have starved my fans for many years without releasing new albums. When you have entered the industry with a bang, fans always expect you to do more,” he said.

“I am so humbled and very grateful to my fans who are amazing. Wherever I go, they always ask why I was silent and not releasing new albums. That’s when I realised I have to please them.”

Sugar Sugar said the title track was already rocking whenever he samples songs from the new album during live shows. “The tittle track Kutsemurirana is a hit which has already won the hearts of many. I believe everyone is going to like it,” he said.

“I am grateful that people love Sugar Sugar’s music and my job is to satisfy them by making more music,” he said.

The Billy goat beard singer said he would not take another break and leave his fans guessing.

“I promise my fans that I am now back and I am here to stay,” he said.

Sugar Sugar lamented financial challenges saying contributed to the delay in releasing the album.

“I am appealing for financial assistance for the album launch. I call upon sponsors or businesspeople who could partner with my band so that the new product becomes a success,” he said.

Sugar Sugar rose to fame with the hit Mairos, which won the hearts of many. His other albums include Zvirimukati, Zvamungarwira and Mari Inoparira.
