If anything, the Sunshine Boys were lucky to escape with a point as Chapungu missed a flurry of chances in the first half and had a couple of penalty shouts waved away.

The hosts failed to fashion even a single shot on target in the first half.

“I am not happy. Two games now we have not shown enough enthusiasm and enough desire to win games,” Harrison said. “We have just thrown away four points in two games. Players have to start to show a little bit desire to win games. “We are capable, that’s the worst of it, if we were not capable I would not be upset. But, I am upset because I know how good we are and what we can do.”

Ian Nyoni, Allen Tavarwisa and Emmanuel Chitauro took turns to spurn good chances for the Air Force of Zimbabwe team in the first half, with City goalkeeper Ryan Harrison making a couple of saves.

Harare City came from the breather a rejuvenated side and could have nosed ahead early on, but Chitauro cleared Tendai Samanja’ shot off the line.

They had further opportunities through substitute Martin Vengesai and Kuda Musharu which were wasted.

“To be honest, this is one game we should have won, especially considering that we created an avalanche of chances in the first half,” Chapungu coach Rodwell Dhlakama said.

“I thought we could have got one or so penalties from where I was standing, but you have to respect the decision of the referee.”
