This was revealed by one of the country’s best music producers, Takunda “Trapper” Torindo, who recently launched a compilation album titled Nyanzvi Dzetsvimbo of 18 tracks artistes in Manicaland province.

The launch took place at the Manicaland Afro-Music Festival at the Manicaland Motoring Club. The compilation album is one way of giving a platform for emerging and established artistes in the province.

In an interview with The Standard Style last week, Torindo said they were taking the album across the county to showcase the talent in the province.

“Look here, there is a lot of talent in Manicaland province, but most of the musicians lack exposure and they are being overshadowed by their counterparts in Harare, Bulawayo and other parts of the country,” he said.

“We decided to come up with a compilation album from local artistes because we were aware that most of the musicians and upcoming artistes don’t have the resources to come up with an album. We asked them to come up with their best tracks, so that we would come up with a product that competes on the market,” he said.

Torindo said they were taking the album to all the country’s radio stations.

The talented producer has worked with some of the country’s best, including Stunner, Extra Large, Sanni Makhalima and a number of international stars.

He said he would produce another compilation album later this year.

“We are to share the proceeds from Nyanzvi Dzetsvimbo with artistes who featured in the projects so that they get motivated to work with us on another album expected in December,” he said.

The album is a potpourri of Afro-pop, hip-hop, pasada, ragga, R‘n’B and house, among others genres.

Some of the musicians featured on the album are Mystery, Alpha, Dearly, Whisky, Exy and Matombo, among others.
