Charismatic man of God Prophet Tapiwa Freddy is a jack of all trades. On the flipside of his pastoral duties, he is a musician, actor, businessman and philanthropist.

Next week the Glen View-based preacher releases his second video in as many months which features contemporary musician Baba Harare, gospel songstress Bethen Pasinawako Ngolomi and former Mukadota partner in comedy John “Chibhodhoro” Muyambo’s son, Nigel aka Chibhoz. The video is of the song Tinopemberera off Freddy’s 2016 album titled 100 Percent Prophetic.

In the video, which portrays a wedding celebration laced with humour, Freddy plays the role of the bridegroom’s father, while Pasinawako-Ngolomi and Baba Harare are the bride and bridegroom respectively.

The video was shot in Harare’s Budiriro suburb and directed by Tamuka Mapembure Hove of Naxo Films.

“That is the other side of Prophet Freddy. I used to act before I took up full-time clerical duties. I have a passion for the arts, but it’s unfortunate that I have a demanding duty to serve God,” he said.

“The video is coming out next week. It’s about an occasion where families are united through a wedding celebration.”

It is laugh-out-loud funny video that can be likened to a yesteryear Mukadota comedy.

“Sometimes we need that sense of humour. We have tried to bring in those rib-tickling scenes, which I believe will excite the viewers,” Fredy said.

He described music as another way of ministering the Word of God. Recently he released a video titled Vana, which has become popular on the church’s television channel GMM TV and online platform YouTube.

Last year the preacher released a single titled Mwariwe. He has been involved in music since 2002. His other previous releases include Mesiya (2002), Serevende (2006) and 100 Percent Prophetic (2016). His music has received generous airplay on local radio stations.

“I have pressing duties to do in the church, so I do music here and there,” he said.
