The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) has increased Zambezi Rainforest entrance fees from $7 to $30.

In a notice yesterday, Zimparks informed visitors and tour operators that the fees would go up today.

“We kindly advice all our valued clients and stakeholders that Zimparks conservation fees for locals (both land and river usage) has been reviewed to RTGs $30.00 and RTGS $25.00 for the Rainforest and Zambezi National Park respectively,” Zimparks said.

“ This is with effect from 11 August 2019. Conservation fees (both land and river usage) for all gorge activities (including highwire activities) are as stipulated for Zambezi National Park.”

Regional and international tourists pay US$20 and US$30 respectively.

In April, former Tourism minister Prisca Mupfumira blocked Zimparks from increasing the fees, saying the move was unjustified. — Nokuthaba Dlamini
