Tawanda Mukocheya (32) believes he has a mission to help locals build durable and nicely designed homes.

A resolute entrepreneur and MD of Tandview Engineering, the businessman has vowed to make sure that his company helps every home seeker construct a house they can be proud of.

“Owning a home is one thing, but owning a durable and nicely structured building another,” he told Standard Style.

“That is why I started this company with the view of empowering home owners with house structures that can make the grade anywhere.

“With climate change that has given rise to natural hazards like floods and storms, building a strong house should be every citizen’s preoccupation hence our thrust at Tandview Engineering.

“We want to bring security to every home owner through our quality products.”

The Tandview Engineering boss also revealed that his passion started during his stint working at his father’s construction company.

“We were providing top-notch services, but we would sometimes be let down by service providers, who would sell our clients sub-standard window frames and door frames and resultantly affecting our workmanship.

“Such mishaps opened my eyes to a business opportunity and that’s how Tandview Engineering started.”

With a pay-off line; #TandviewDurables, the engineering company has carved a niche for itself in the local design, manufacturing and installation of high quality and durable construction related aluminium and steel products like door frames, window frames, sliding gates as well as garage gates

“Even the ordinary rural builder knows that a house is as beautiful as the window and door designs it comes with but even more important is to make sure that those have the right quality,” he said.

“At Tandview Engineering, we have invested so much in the right technology and we are happy with the strides we are making in the local construction industry.

“We have become the go to company for all aluminium and steel construction related products and we continue to explore new heights in this sector.”

With a technical team of 15 highly qualified and professional personnel, Tandview Engineering, which is based in Harare’s Workington industrial area has made remarkable inroads in the construction engineering sector with clientele dotted around Harare and surrounding areas.

“We have become the home builder’s choice for all aluminium and steel related products especially in the greater Harare area and other neighbouring towns,” he said.

“Our plan is to decentralise and set up more Tandview Engineering branches in all major cities like Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare and Masvingo so that we can service our clientele better.”

Mukocheya, who draws inspiration from like-minded entrepreneurs, said he was encouraged by the strides that local small to medium enterprises were making inspite of the limiting environment.

“I am who I am because of like-minded entrepreneurs who have inspired me to go into business full-time.

“For me, the leading light has been the MD of Ebenezer Distributors, Lameck Mazaiwana who has nurtured me all the way.

“It’s not easy running a business, but having peers who believe in you like him has helped my brand grow and I am facing the future with confidence.”

Mukocheya said he was inspired by established businesspeople like Tinashe Mutarisi of Nash Paints Group, Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote as well as South Africa’s Patrice Motsepe to name a few.

“Tandview Engineering is the future of construction and we will continue reinventing ourselves in tune with obtaining trends so that we provide affordable and quality solutions tour clients,” he said.

“We continue to draw inspiration from the likes of Tinashe Mutarisi in Zimbabwe, who started his business from scratch as well as business luminaries in Africa like Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote and South African mogul, Patrice Motsepe.”
