A local preacher Tafadzwa Ruwambara last week launched his first book titled The Cactus Creed . The launch was celebrated before a full house at a Harare hotel.
An avid writer whose romance with the pen started when he was in Form 3, Ruwambara said he had always harboured hopes to become an established author.
“I feel excited to have achieved this feat because writing is my first love and I remember as early as Form 3, I was already producing some manuscripts on related topics,” he told Standard Style.
Ruwambara said the book, which was published by Esteem Communications — a local public relations and brand development company, focuses on hope and endurance.
“The book focuses on two major things namely hope and endurance. It emphasises that one can still make it in spite of the environment,” he said.
“Yes, we are operating in difficult times, but the message in The Cactus Creed is that divine power coupled with human effort can achieve a lot. One must work hard and look up to God as they seek self-actualisation for that is the duty of man.
“I am elated with the success recorded through this book launch and I just want to thank everyone for coming through. My friends and family, church members, fellow pastors and my publishers for helping me achieve.”
Esteem Communications MD Sympathy Sibanda Mazuruse said they were happy to be a part of Ruwambara’s success.
“We are the dream factory and we are happy for Tafadzwa as he embarks on his journey as a fully-fledged author,” she said.
“Even more encouraging is the fact that his writings carry the message of hope.
Esteem Communications organised the book launch whose guest of honour was Shepherd Fungura.
