Celebrated music minister Pastor Josh Kays (pictured below) says he has big plans for next year and will continue producing more music as he believes “it is a gift to bring glory to God”.

Gifted with a strong husky singing voice, Pastor Josh Kays told Standard Style on Thursday that he had a lot in store for his followers.

“The year 2020 is going to be big for us because we are planning to do our live DVD recording, which will feature a lot of artists who are doing well in and outside Zimbabwe,” he said.

The revered preacher, who has turned out to be a mentor for a good number of upcoming musicians, said he would continue with his mentorship programme on top of establishing his own studio.

“We will be launching our recording studio for our projects next year. This is part of our mentorship programmes and we would like to assist upcoming artistes,” he said.

After releasing the album titled Coming Back to the Heart of Worship two years ago, Pastor Josh Kays has been active on stage, coordinating music concerts and collaborating with other artistes.

He singled out 2019 as one of his busiest years in his career.

“This year we managed to launch our new album titled New Sound, a book titled Simplicity is More and we hosted six major worship nights,” he said.

“I am a music pastor at my church so most of my time was spent grooming and working with upcoming musicians. I was doing this alongside my wife.”

Pastor Josh believes he was created to use his talent to glorify God.

“Music is a calling and it’s not something I’m doing for fame or to get riches but I am a minister,” he said.

“My goal is to minister first to God with my gift and serve His people.”

With five albums under his sleeve, Pastor Josh Kays has worked with several gospel artistes including Takesure Zamar Ncube, Mathias Mhere, ZimPraise on the song Aripano, which also features Bishop John Francis.

Pastor Josh Kays, who won the 2016 Permican Awards Best Song gong for the track Aripano, has roped in upcoming musician Phillip Kambare whom he helped re-do one of his songs Tinokunda off his debut album Tauya Nerumbidzo.

He confirmed that Kambare was under his tutelage.

“Yes, Minister Phil is working with us with the group New Sound Revolution,” Pastor Josh Kays said.

“We are helping him to grow in music so that he gets that much-needed recognition.”
