For yesteryear musician Zexie Manatsa and wife Stella, age is just a number. On Friday the septuagenarian and wife gave a scintillating performance evoking old memories when they performed on a virtual concert dubbed Zexie Manatsa Family Show.

The hour-long concert, which was aired on Ngoda TV and other social media platforms, brought together the Manatsa siblings and their spouses.

A UK-based company Incisive Training, owned by the legendary musician’s daughter-in-law and gospel artiste Sharon, powered the show, which also featured Manatsa’s sons Freedom, Green and Tendai.

Selmor Mtukudzi, the wife of Tendai, was also in attendance, and with the support of Alice Nyakurai, provided backing vocals for the Manatsas before she led the vocals singing songs from her old albums and the latest offering Dehwe Renzou.

Both Tendai (lead guitar) and Freedom (drums) had their moments too and sang love ballads.

The biggest moment was when Manatsa and his wife took to the stage and belted out yesteryear hits such as Chivaraidze, Chipo Chiroorwa, Highlanders, Makepekepe Shaisa Mufaro and Tamirira Dynamos.

In his 20-minute stint, Manatsa proved to all and sundry that he still has the energy that he exhibited some 35 years ago.

Sharon wrapped up the show with gospel tracks, including Crossing Over and Tinofamba Munyasha.

The gospel diva is married to the legendary musician’s son Zex Jnr.

The backing team included Green Manatsa (keyboard), Ben, Tendai’s son (acoustic guitar), Aaron, Green’s son (drums), Archieford Chikoti (lead guitar), Geofrey (bass guitar) and Givemore Gawaza (keyboard).
