South Africa-based Zimbabwean film actor and producer Mthulisi Moyo, aka Mahlalela, continues to shine on the flipside of his artistic talent following the visuals of his latest single titled Thwasa.

Two years ago, Moyo ventured into music when he released a single titled Umhlaba Ujikile, which featured on South Africa-based music outfit Mbarura Express’s album titled Zero to Hero.

Thwasa and another single Goli are part of a six-track album titled Hazvina Kana that was released last year by Mbarura Express.

In all the songs, which are sungura-fused with some kanindo and rhumba beat, Moyo features South African pop star Freddie Gwala.

Local comedian-cum- musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima features on the track Goli.

Last week Moyo released visual snippets of the video of the song Thwasa, which features Gwala and South African music outfit Platform One.

“The video of the song Thwasa is coming out in the next few days. It’s done and it features Freddie Gwala as well as Platform One,” Moyo said.

The production of the video was handled by Thulani Nyathi and Shepherd Khumalo.

Moyo said he was working on a new single titled Gogo Ongela Mazinyo.

“It’s still work in progress. As soon we are done, we will let you know,” he said.

“As of dramas, we are waiting for the re-opening of borders on the Zimbabwe side so that we come and shoot a new video.”

The multi-talented artiste described his music and dramas as a reflection of his life and other millions of Zimbabweans staying in foreign lands.

“I sing and act my personal story, which I believe reflects the lives of many people living in foreign countries, particularly here in Johannesburg,” he said.

Moyo, who made headlines when he featured comedian-cum-musician Kapfupi and Gwala in one of his dramas, said he was not quitting acting for good.
