The single was produced by Trust Samende and Tafadzwa Chingono, who did the post-production.

Wenyasha told Standard Style that the song was a prayer and an expression of how “I love God and how I need Him every day”.

“Ndinokuda Mweya is a prayer or supplication to God telling Him how much we need Him every day, how much we need Him in our day-to-day lives,” Wenyasha said.

“We can’t live on our own, we need Him, we have a Master in heaven that is God and He needs to guide us, so it’s just a prayer to God that He should guide and lead me every day.

“The song will encourage people to pray, it will encourage people to seek God and to be much closer to their Maker.”

Chingono said he saw it necessary to release a song this time of the year because December is a befitting month.

“The song had to be released this time of the year because that’s when people are getting more relaxed and they get more time to listen to music.

“The track has this joyful kind of vibe, so I believe that fans would be able to enjoy it during the Christmas holiday. It is a strategy to have something into 2021, something that would be relevant in the bedding of the year.”

Chingono said he is working on a few more singles before he releases another album sometime mid next year.

He said it is advantageous to release singles because people can concentrate on one song at a time “The song will be available starting on Monday [tomorrow] on online platforms like iTunes, Google Play Store and YouTube, among others,” he said.

“We are also coming up with a platform for people to buy and download online and pay in local currency.”

Chingono is looking forward to be aired on regional television channels like One Gospel and Trace Gospel, among others.

“I worked with brilliant artistes from the House of Grove and two Canada-based Zimbabweans,” he said.

“That kind of collaboration brings in a rich slap to the music, it brings a lot of experience in the genre, this song is largely Katekwe, a traditional Zimbabwean sound. It’s a mbira type so I think fans will really love it.”

Chingono is looking forward to releasing more music after taking a back seat because of university commitments.

“It was hard to work under Covid-19 restrictions, but with God’s grace, we managed to coordinate everything and come up with this single,” Chingono said.
