Zimbabwean representative in the Mister Africa Continental, male model Ben Chest, says he is geared up for the competition, which will take place in Ghana later this year.

The pageant will be held from September 20 to 27.

Mister Africa Continental is a pageant that celebrates definitive diverse men that are passionate and devoted to making African males continental icons. These are also men that protect, preserve and promote African’s cultural uniqueness.

Speaking after sealing an ambassadorial deal with Mega Gas in Bulawayo, Chest said preparations were going on smoothly and asked for more corporate support to help with his preparations.

“Preparations are going on well, I am ready to do battle in Ghana. I appreciate the support that I have been receiving from fans and companies who have extended their hands in sponsoring my journey. I thank Mega Gas for what they have done so far and I am calling for more sponsors to come on board. It’s not an easy road as I am looking for money to cover all the expenses,” he said.

Mega Gas director Hillary Madho urged Zimbabweans to support Chest.

“Ben (Chest) is an incredible model who has been working hard in the arts industry and we are happy to be in partnership with him. We wish him all the best in Ghana as he represents the country, a win for Ben Chest is a win for Mega Gas and the whole of Zimbabwe. We need to unite and support Ben Chest as a country,” he said.

Chest started his career in 2008 as a freelance model in Bulawayo trying to build his brand and was snapped up by Edgars Stores to showcase their clothes.

He then joined AM Modelling Agency in 2014, who groomed him until he left three years later and is now  a freelancer again.

Chest has also featured in music videos such as Jah Prayzah’s Sadza Nemuriwo.
